A Brighter Beginning provides faith-based counseling, coaching, and encouragement. We do not provide therapy, or medical or mental health treatment. If at any point we believe you would be best served by a licensed professional, we will say so with love and help point you in the right direction.

No. Our approach is rooted in Scripture and centered on faith, and we are always honest about that. But every woman is welcome here, wherever she is in her faith journey. Come as you are, and together, we’ll get you in a better place.

Your first session is simply about being heard. You'll share as much or as little of your story as you're comfortable with, and Barbie or Steph will listen, ask gentle questions, and help you name what you're carrying. There is nothing to prepare and no way to get it wrong.

That's up to you. Some women meet weekly during a hard season; others meet every few weeks as life unfolds. You and Barbie will decide together what serves you best, and you can adjust at any time.

Yes. Telehealth appointments are available for women outside the Miami area or who are unable to travel, so support fits into the life you're already living, wherever you are.

Sessions begin at $65 per hour. As a nonprofit, we have kept our rates intentionally accessible. If you have questions about rates, please reach out; we're happy to talk it through.

Appointments are by request only for now, which means every relationship here starts with a conversation. Request an appointment through our contact form or give us a call. We'll respond promptly, answer any questions, and find a time that works for you.
